Willunga 100 is a small passionate team led by winemakers Mike Farmilo (ex- Seaview and Penfolds) and Tim James (ex-Hardy’s, Wirra Wirra & Len Evans Tutorial Tutor). These two experienced winemakers have created an exciting and vibrant range of wines from McLaren Vale showing its diverse sub-regions and the wonderful resource that is dry grown Bush Vine Grenache. Why 100? The term “HUNDRED” originates from late Saxon and Norman England. It was an administrative unit of government, meaning that 100+ families had to live in the area to qualify for its place on the map. Just as the McLaren Vale district was divided up into “100′s”, or small lots, so they select their fruit from small parcels. Much of their best fruit comes from the area that once was the Hundred of Willunga.
